This is an active discussion list (Google group) of the System Change Not Climate Change network. We welcome all who share our ecosocialist perspective and agree to abide by our guidelines for use of the list:
- Each post to the list should either be (1) an announcement or (2) a contribution to a discussion. In either case, it should be relevant to ecosocialism and efforts to build an ecosocialist movement in North America and around the world.
- Unless clearly obvious, any posting of an article (or link to an article) should be preceded by at least a few sentences explaining why the recipients should care about its contents. Please bear in mind that mere posting of an article by itself is not necessarily a “contribution to a discussion”.
- System Change not Climate Change is a nonsectarian network of ecosocialists who generally agree on the points of unity that appear here: https://systemchangenotclimatechange.org/about. People should not expect agreement on other issues dividing the Left. If you really want to bring up some of the old controversies within the socialist Left, make sure you justify this as relevant to current ecosocialist organizing. In any case, arguments should be made in a comradely fashion. Disagreeing with others’ posts is obviously fine, but ad hominem attacks are not. Name-calling, flaming, trolling, and other forms of incivility and cyberabuse are not welcome and may result in temporary or permanent suspension of posting privileges.
- While almost nothing on the Internet should be seen as genuinely private, list subscribers should be free to express opinions on this list that they would not want to be seen elsewhere. So list subscribers should never forward messages posted to this list to other lists or to people who are not subscribers and never CC other lists or non-subscribers in a post that is part of an ongoing discussion on the list.
