Art vs. Capitalism Webinar!

August 13 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm PDT

10:00 am Pacific, 11:00 am Mountain, noon Central, 1:00 Eastern (US/Canada)

We love her art! Let’s meet the creative superpower behind it. Register link below. Stephanie McMillan will give a presentation about her work and join in conversation with Edie Pistolesi, followed by an audience Q&A. We’ll have a chance to ask her some of the burning questions that have arisen as we’ve followed her path as an award-winning and widely-published cartoonist, producing editorial cartoons, comic strips, children’s books, graphic novels, and now natural-world paintings and drawings. Maybe you’re even lucky enough to own some of her beautiful cards, posters, drawings, or paintings. In recent years Stephanie has shifted her output to focus on plants and wildlife in her home city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her artwork has always been reaching toward positive social transformation and overcoming capitalism-imperialism so that all can thrive. As she says, “Love the Living, Fight the Machine!”

Guest host Edie Pistolesi is another ecosocialist presence in the artivism world. Professor emerita of art and art education at California State University Northridge, Edie spent decades helping her students design art projects to challenge capitalism and its injustices.
