New environmental review rules anger oilsands critics

In-situ oilsands developments such as Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.’s Primrose Lake facility near Cold Lake, Alta., involve melting oil directly out of the ground rather than being mined and then processed later. They will not be required to undergo federal environmental assessments. (Reuters)
